Inter-Facility Transfers

IMR has one dedicated ICU vehicle for interfacility ICU transfers that is manned by a CCA / Ndip and an AEA or BAA. This vehicle is stocked with all Advanced Life Support equipment as well as ICU equipment, such as for example syringe drivers, infusion pumps, adult and neonatal ventilators, ICU monitors (including EtCO2), and incubator. All of our ambulances can also be converted to an ICU vehicle within minutes but are all usually equipped and manned to the Intermediate Life Support level of treatment and transport.

First Aid Training

First aid training at Level I, II and III (approved by the Department of Labour), as well as supply of Regulation 7 first aid kits and refilling of business first aid boxes.

Intensive Medical Rescue started with one ambulance, manned by the directors in Klerksdorp in the 2000. The need for a locally based private ambulance service was identified by the directors, who at that stage had acquired pre-hospital paramedical experience in both the provincial and local government sectors with a combined total of over 40 years. IMR is registered with the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) and is also a SAPAESA (South African Private Ambulance Emergency Services Association) member.

IMR is a closed corporation with three directors: Wallace Anderson (Managing Director), Louise Smit (Operational Director), and Joey Anderson (Financial Director).

IMR employs a sufficient number of Health Professional Council of South Africa registered personnel to cover all transport and treatment needs of sick or injured individuals. All personnel have current professional driver permits. Qualification levels of our staff range from National Diploma to Basic Ambulance Assistant.

We consider our personnel to be our main assets in providing the most professional service to our community. We only charge fees in accordance with the BHF tariff structures.

IMR seeks to continue providing professional paramedical service to our community and gainful employment to ourselves as well as others.
