Critical Life Assist

Critical Life Assist is a 24 hour accredited Advanced Life Support ambulance service, providing emergency response and medical services. We are registered with the Board of Healthcare Funders and are also a member of the South African Private Ambulance Emergency Service Association. All of our paramedics are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. Our fleet is controlled from our 24 hour emergency control and despatch centre. We have a unique tracking system in place to ensure that we always have control over the fleet, and can therefore use a custom-designed GPS system to despatch our emergency vehicles to the site of the emergency within the fastest possible time

Inter-Facility Transfers

Critical Life Assist offers nationwide inter-hospital transfers, cross-border transfers to and from neighbouring states, private (non-medical aid) transfers, Intensive Care transportation, and hospital to home transfers.

First Aid Training

Critical Life Assist offers the following first aid training: First Aid Level 1, First Aid Level 2, First Aid Level 3, Sports First Aid, Basic CPR, and Family and Friends CPR.

Identity

We are an accredited Advanced Life Support ambulance service with our Lephalale and Thabazimbi branches covering the entire Limpopo area, and our Centurion branch covering Centurion, Pretoria and Midrand.

Management

Mr Johann Nysschen has over 12 years’ emergency medical experience, and is an accredited medical training facilitator.  Mr Bertie Gebhardt has extensive project and financial management experience, with a Master’s in Business Commerce (Stellenbosch University). Mr Jaco Reinecke is a qualified Advanced Life Support Medic with diplomas in Business Management and Project Management.

Staff

Critical Life Assist employs medical professionals across all of the qualification levels for Emergency Medical Services. Each crew consists of one BLS member, one ILS member and one ALS member. Seven crews are currently employed full-time.

Critical Life Assist values the provision of pre-hospital care, emergency medical services and emergency medical training to all possible clients, within the ethical framework promoted by the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) and the South African Private Ambulance Emergency Services Association (SAPAESA), both of which Critical Life Assist is a member.
